The Lakewood Renaissance Faire is happening on Sept. 16 & 17 RAIN OR SHINE. Trance Formation will be performing on the caravan stage at 2 pm on Saturday and 1:30 pm on Sunday. For more information click here. Don't miss it!
Goddess Party! The next Center for Health & Healing Goddess Party will be held on September 30. Don't miss the free belly dance class, Trance Formation performance, henna artist, aura photography, tarot reading, etc.
Trance Formation will be performing at the next Daughter's of Sophia hafla on November 18 th. We had such a great time in May and plan on having an even better time in November! Come on out and see our new dances that will be showcased at this event!
Trance Formation will also be returning to Harrisburg for their semi-annual hafla on December 3rd. I don't expect anyone from the shore to be out there, but if you have friends/relatives in the Harrisburg area make them aware of the event so they don't miss out.

The Center for Health and Healing has been having a lot of success with their Goddess Parties. The last one, held on August 5th, was loaded with interesting and fun stuff. There is an Aura Photographer, Henna Artist, Tarot Card Reader, Belly Dance Demo and Quickie Class, plus all the yoga and massage things being offered. It is always a great time where you can learn a lot about yourself through aura and tarot, treat yourself with henna, yoga and massage. The next Goddess Party will be held on September 30. Belly Dance performance time to be announced.
Cooling
At our debut in Harrisburg, on July 16th, Trance Formation put on "the best performance all night." according to my husband who is a non-biased judge of belly dance. No, really he is. Just ask him. We were less nervous than expected since we felt good about the dance and were way too busy looking forward to seeing all the other performing troupes. I thought we did well, which is saying a lot because I am a perfectionist as well as my own worst critic.
Shavati's troupe was incredible and although she was a very talented dancer when she left the Jersey Shore, she has grown as a dancer, as an instructor and as a strong independent woman since I've seen her last. Her students were amazing and I found it hard to believe they had only taken 12 classes. It must be the extra 30 minutes of class time! I was unable to take the workshop due to our long drive, but was told repeatedly that it was fantastic. Hajai's, the workshop instructor, performances were truly a sight to behold. NEW classes start on September 1st! If you are not already signed up and paid, head down to the Center for Health and Healing and get that taken care of quick!
Performances
Trance Formation will be performing at the Lakewood Renaissance Faire on September 16th and 17th at Pine Park in Lakewood, NJ. This should prove to be a fun show since both Zoe and I will be in familiar surroundings. We have not decided what we are going to perform, but believe me it will be interesting if nothing else!

My very good friend and sister in the dance, Zoe (the dancer formerly known as Yasmin), has agreed to form a Gothic/Tribal Fusion belly dance troupe with me. I am especially blessed because not only is she a beautiful, good hearted woman, she is very talented and exceptionally clever. She came up with our troupe name, Trance Formation, and is a skilled seamstress. I wouldn't trust our costumes to anyone else, not even myself!
We are still putting together a short program of dances, we are looking forward to the hafla's where we have been invited to perform. As soon as the details are worked out, they will be posted.
During this summer, Zoe and I will continue to work on the finer details of getting our duo out of the studio and into the dance community. We are in the process of creating wicked costumes that will enhance our weirdly fascinating choreography. As soon as they are complete, we will have our photographer shoot some promo shots for the web site.
